Son of ex-Salavat Yulaev player debuts for Team Canada
The son of former Ufa Salavat Yulaev player Nikolai Kulemin, Alexei Kulemin, has debuted for the Canadian junior national team at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup. The 17-year-old forward is one of the most talented young players in the country. As reported by the publication AllHockey.Ru, Kulemin Jr. was previously selected ninth overall in the Canadian Hockey League Import Draft.
Last season, Alexei played for Kingston in the Ontario Hockey League, recording 31 (11+20) points in 57 regular-season games and scoring one goal in four playoff games.
Nikolai Kulemin played for Salavat Yulaev from 2021 to 2024. He played 129 games for the Ufa team and recorded 84 points (44+40). Kulemin became the 8th player in KHL history to score a hat trick at the age of 37 or older.
