Handball team "Ufa-Alisa" changed its name to "Bashkiria"

The handball team "Ufa-Alisa" is changing its name. Starting from the new season, the women's handball team from the capital of the republic will compete under the new name "Bashkiria". This was announced by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan — Minister of Sports Ruslan Khabibov.

According to Ruslan Khabibov, the decision to rename is an important step that emphasizes the team's connection with the entire region and will unite fans throughout the republic.

"Over the years of competition, 'Ufa-Alisa' has become a part of the sporting history of our republic. Behind this name stand brilliant victories, selfless play, loyal fans, and the great work of many generations of athletes, coaches, and specialists.

I am confident that under the new name, the team will preserve the best traditions of Bashkir handball and achieve new successes. I wish 'Bashkiria' beautiful victories, exciting matches, and the support of full stands!" wrote Ruslan Khabibov on social media.
