Russian football players will return to FIFA tournament after four years of suspension
The International Federation of Association Football has allowed Russian boys' and girls' national teams under 15 to take part in the 2026 World Cup. This was reported on the organization's website.
According to the FIFA statement, the federation's council approved the participation of players under 15 in the tournament. The first World Cup for boys will be held in Azerbaijan in 2026, and teams from all FIFA member associations will be eligible to take part. The second championship, scheduled for 2027, will be held for girls. Starting in 2028, FIFA will organize two separate competitions for boys and girls under 15.
The Russian Football Union is a member association of FIFA.
