Alsu Minazova, a slalom skier from Ufa and a Tokyo Olympic participant, is preparing to compete in international competitions in Australia. She told Bashinform.

In February 2026, Australia will host the Penrith Open and Australian Open, bringing together slalom skiers from around the world. Both tournaments are included in the International Canoe Federation World Ranking for the current year, allowing athletes to earn ranking points in canoe, canoe, and kayak competitions.

"There's always a chance. We'll see what form we can get in. But these are off-season competitions, for which we don't prepare specifically as we do for the World Championships. We're continuing to work on our foundation," said Alsu Minazova.
