Ernest Sharafutdinov from Ufa will compete in karate tournament in Egypt

Reigning European karate champion Ernest Sharafutdinov from Ufa is preparing for the World Championships in Cairo. He will compete in the 75 kg weight class, according to the Ministry of Sport of Bashkortostan.

The World Karate Championships in the Egyptian capital will be held from November 27 to 30. In addition to Sharafutdinov, the tournament in the Egyptian capital will also feature European champion Akhmed Akhmedov (up to 60 kg), 2025 European Championship silver medalist Yurik Oganisyan (up to 67 kg), 2025 European Championship bronze medalist Anna Chernysheva, as well as Russian champions Eduard Gasparyan (up to 84 kg) and Makar Golovin (over 84 kg).

The tournament will be held in two stages. In the group stage, athletes will compete in a round-robin format. The participant with the most points wins the group: the group winner and the karateka who places second advance to the next round.
