Boxing is one of the core sports in Bashkortostan. This was announced two years ago by the republic's Prime Minister, Andrey Nazarov, who has headed the regional boxing federation for the same period.
"From the very beginning, I set the goal of making it one of the best in the country. We are actively developing mass boxing and holding large-scale competitions. In two years, we have opened 20 new Boxing Federation branches in 40 cities and districts of our republic. The men's team is one of the strongest in the Volga Federal District, regularly winning prizes. And with the opening of the Wrestling Palace, our athletes have received an excellent base for competition," the head of the republic's cabinet wrote on social media.
On November 27, the Russian Women's Boxing Championship will begin at the Wrestling Palace in Ufa. Admission to all rings is free.
In 2023, four athletes won medals at the Russian Championships in Ufa: two gold, one silver, and one bronze.
