Azalia Amineva of Bashkortostan knocked down her opponent from Latvia
Two-time Russian champion Azalia Amineva won the 2025 European Championships. Andrei Nazarov, Prime Minister of the Republic of Bashkortostan, announced the victory.
The tournament was held in Yerevan. Azalia Amineva won a convincing victory over Ekaterina Sorokina of Latvia in the final of the junior championship (ages 19-22).
Azalia led on points in the first two rounds, but the third round ended in a complete defeat for her opponent from the Baltic country. The judges awarded Sorokina a knockdown, after which her coach withdrew her from the fight.
"I wish Azalia continued to move forward with the same passion and confidence! And we look forward to more victories at the Women's Boxing Championships in Ufa!" said Andrei Nazarov.
