Russian Paralympic athletes will once again be able to compete under their country's flag. The corresponding decision was made by the General Assembly of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC). The vote to fully reinstate the Russian Paralympic Committee (RPC) took place on September 26, 2025, in Seoul, South Korea.
"Excellent news," commented Ruslan Khabibov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Bashkortostan and Minister of Sport of the Republic.
This decision will enable Russian athletes to participate in the Paralympic Games and competitions in sports overseen by the IPC, under the flag and anthem of the Russian Federation. However, at the World Athletics Championships currently underway in India, Russian athletes will compete as neutrals due to difficulties in amending the protocol, the RPC reported.
