68-year-old pensioner from Bashkiria ran 63 kilometers around Ufa

68-year-old pensioner from Bashkiria, Albert Klyavlin, ran 63 kilometers around Ufa in the Ufa Necklace ultramarathon. The city mayor's office reported on the elderly runner's record.

71 athletes from Bashkiria, Tatarstan, the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug, and St. Petersburg took part in the fifth stage of the ultramarathon. The runners covered the 9.5-kilometer route at a free pace from the springboard. Part of the route passed along a new section - the Karaidel Trail, which connected the Pearl of Aurora with the Akbuzat Trail.

"5 athletes ran the entire distance of the Necklace, which is 63 kilometers. Among them is the oldest conqueror of the route, 68-year-old Albert Klyavlin, as well as Ilnur Fatkhullin, who overcame the "City Ultra" in all five stages of the race series," the mayor's office said.

The next stage will take place on September 27.
