Alexander Khmelevsky will remain in HC Salavat Yulaev
At a pre-season press conference, Salavat Yulaev CEO Rinat Bashirov, answering journalists' questions, spoke about the future career of forward Alexander Khmelevsky.
"Indeed, managers of Omsk's Avangard approached us in the off-season. It was a generous offer. We cannot afford to lose a leader and leave the fans without hope. That is why Alexander plays in our team," Bashirov answered.
The team's head coach, Viktor Kozlov, added that Khmelevsky should lead the rest of the players.
"When we signed him, we saw his potential as a leader. The team's values are built on people like Khmelevsky and Panin. Young players learn from them how to train, how to behave in life," Viktor Kozlov said.
