Bashkiria athletes win major sports tournaments

Bashkiria continues to be a point of attraction for major All-Russian and international competitions, and this is primarily facilitated by the developed sports infrastructure of Ufa, as well as the districts and cities of the republic. Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic - Minister of Sports Ruslan Khabibov, stated this at an operational meeting of the government.

In July, Ufa hosted the Russian championship in canoe slalom among athletes under 17 years old and the all-Russian competitions "Youth of Russia" in canoe slalom among boys and girls under 15 years old. Also in July, Bashkiria hosted the 5-7 stages of the international cycling competition "Tour of Russia". Last week, the opening of the sports and recreation complex with a swimming pool, multi-purpose and wrestling halls "Zaryad" in Blagoveshchensk took place, within the framework of which a friendly basketball match was held between the team "Dynamo Junior" and the international team of students of universities of the Republic of Bashkortostan. "Bashkortostan became the meeting place for over 300 of the strongest rowers from 19 regions of Russia and the Republic of Kazakhstan. 21 athletes competed from our republic. In the overall team standings of the Russian Championship, our Bashkortostan became the silver medalist, losing to St. Petersburg and ahead of the team from Moscow. In the All-Russian competitions under 15 years old, we became gold medalists, leaving behind such strong regions as St. Petersburg and the Moscow region. Athletes of the republic won 20 medals. Of course, the construction of a unique canoe slalom channel allows the Republic of Bashkortostan to take leading positions in the championship and all-Russian competitions today. This is also facilitated by the fact that this is the home sports facility of our athletes, the conditions of which allow training all year round," said Ruslan Khabibov.
