The competition was held in the capital of Spain, Madrid. As reported by the Ministry of Sports of the Republic, Aisylu Nigmatzyanova won gold in the snatch with a result of 75 kg and silver in the clean and jerk with a result of 90 kg.
The real drama unfolded in the final of the biathlon. Aisylu was only 1 kg away from the coveted gold medal. In the end, she won her second silver.
"Despite the shoulder injury, I went out on the platform to win. Because of the injury, we reduced the load, played it safe and entered less. I would have liked more. I coped with the excitement and, I think, performed well," said the champion.
Aisylu trains under the guidance of coach Ilzira Usmanova at the Neftekamsk sports school. Previously, she set four national records and won the Russian championship.
