Russian Ice Racing Championship will be dedicated to memory of Nikolai Krasnikov

“It is hard to realize that he is no longer with us. He was one of the most titled athletes in our motorsport. Our memory begins to leaf through his achievements, which he used to glorify our sport. Thousands of people applauded him, and he rose to the Olympus of the world championship eight times. His contribution to our sport cannot be overestimated. The Motorcycle Federation has decided to dedicate one of the stages of the Russian Ice Racing Championship to the memory of Nikolai Krasnikov,” said Evgeny Parshin.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic's Government and Minister of Sports, Ruslan Khabibov, expressed condolences to the father, the first coach of motorcycle racer Nikolai Krasnikov.

"You raised a real man, a champion... At each world championship, you accompanied him to new victories, and he invariably reached new heights. In recent years, Nikolai Krasnikov worked as the director of our school, where he achieved significant success in a short time. He was always passionate about his work and made huge plans for the development of motorsports in the republic. We will prepare proposals for holding all-Russian and international competitions in memory of Nikolai Krasnikov," said Ruslan Khabibov.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Bashkortostan, Irek Sagitov, noted that Nikolai Krasnikov was a true friend to him.

"There is not a single person in Bashkortostan who did not know Krasnikov. People came to the stadiums to watch his performances. He was a true friend to all of us; we worked hand in hand together," said Irek Sagitov. The coffin was carried out of the sports school to the roar of motorcycles. Pupils of the Gabdrakhman Kadyrov Technical Sports Centre led the funeral cortege. Nikolay Krasnikov will be buried in his small homeland, in Shadrinsk, Kurgan Region. The farewell will take place on June 19 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
