Bashkiria Amends Sports Development Strategy

The Government of Bashkiria has amended the strategy for the development of physical culture and sports until 2030. The document was published on the official Internet portal of legal information.

The strategy is based on the decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin "On the national development goals of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2030 and for the future up to 2036." The program aims to increase the provision of sports facilities to the republic's population to 80% by 2030. According to 2024 data, this figure is 71.02%.

The share of people with disabilities and those with disabilities involved in sports is expected to increase from 29.9% in 2024 to 32% by 2030. The number of highly qualified athletes, including those with disabilities, is likely to grow from 1,540 in 2024 to 1,600 by 2030. We are referring to candidates for the Master of Sports, Master of Sports of Russia, International Master, and Honored Master of Sports. In addition, the number of winners and prize-winners - members of sports teams who took part in official sports events should reach 2,900 by 2030 from 2,857 in 2024.

In terms of the number of sports facilities, Bashkiria ranks third in Russia. In total, there are more than 13.3 thousand such facilities in the republic. Last year, three large facilities were commissioned at once: the Fencing Center, a complex of facilities for canoe slalom, and the Wrestling Palace.

This year, Bashkiria plans to commission five more sports facilities. Currently, the design of an athletics arena, an Olympic reserve school, a Boxing Progress Center, and a Tennis Academy is underway. Their construction will begin next year.

Today, 62% of residents of Bashkiria, or 2 million 317 thousand people, are regularly involved in physical education and sports. This is the third indicator in the Volga Federal District. The Russian national teams include 429 Bashkir athletes who have won over 3,500 medals. 552 athletes and their coaches received financial support for achieving high sports results, and 207 young athletes received special scholarships.
