Bashkiria to increase funding for professional sports teams

Bashkiria's Head, Radiy Khabirov, speaking at a plenary session of the State Assembly of the Republic on May 29, discussed plans to finance the region's sports teams.

"I will ask the Ministry of Sports to hold a major briefing, where we need to talk about the tasks that we have already solved in this area. Just last week, we discussed the prospects for financing sports teams in 2025, including professional ones. In particular, I can say that we are maintaining funding for the Salavat Yulaev hockey club. We have an agreement with Bashneft that has been in place for years, and we are grateful to the company for its support. You know that this year our professional basketball and volleyball teams have shown unprecedented results. This also requires certain solutions, which we have found. We have increased off-budget funding. And seeing the success of our professional teams, of course, we will move forward and support them," said Radiy Khabirov.
