Judoka from Bashkiria won bronze at World Championship

The Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic—Minister of Sports, Ruslan Khabibov, reported that a judoka from Bashkiria, Ruslan Karimov, won a bronze medal at the World Judo Championship among athletes with visual impairments.

As Ruslan Khabibov said in his Telegram channel, Ruslan Karimov is a versatile athlete. In his youth, he was fond of checkers and received the first category. Later, Ruslan switched to athletics and mini-football, achieving the title of candidate for master of sports in both sports. In addition, he became the republic's swimming champion.

“Rushan Karimov’s true talent was revealed in judo. In 2019, he won bronze at the Russian Cup, and in 2021, he became a master of sports in Russia and a silver medalist in the national championship. The following year, Karimov became the champion of Russia. And the level of performance continues to grow. Yesterday, the World Judo Championship for the Blind started in Kazakhstan, where Ruslan confidently entered the top three and became a bronze medalist. This story teaches us a simple truth: always try something new and improve yourself. The main thing is desire. And success will come," said Ruslan Khabibov.
