Salavat Yulaev to meet Lokomotiv in semifinals
Ufa's Salavat Yulaev will face Lokomotiv from Yaroslavl in the Gagarin Cup semifinals. The Lokomotiv—Avangard match determined the Yulaev team's opponent in the third round of the playoffs.
The Railwaymen beat the Omsk team 3:2 in overtime in the seventh match. Interestingly, the first goal in the decisive game for Lokomotiv was scored by Alexander Radulov, a 2011 Gagarin Cup winner with the Ufa team.
Salavat Yulaev has met Lokomotiv twice this season. Ufa was stronger in both matches. The teams played in the playoffs back in 2008. Then the "Yulaevtsy" won the final series against the "Railwaymen" with a score of 3:2 and became the champions of Russia.
The first match of the semifinal series "Salavat Yulaev" will be held in Yaroslavl on April 27.
