Ufa to host Russian Ice Racing Cup
Ufa is once again hosting all-Russian competitions. On February 22-23, the Ufa stadium "Stroitel" will host the Russian Ice Racing Cup, the second-highest ice speedway competition in the world after the Russian Championship.
As reported by the Ufa mayor's office, these competitions are unique in that they are being held 70 years after the first ice races in Ufa, which took place on February 20, 1955, on Soldatskoye Lake in Ivan Yakutov Park.
On Sunday, February 16, the 65th Russian Individual Ice Racing Championship in the 500 cubic centimeter class ended in Krasnogorsk. For the fourth time in a row, Ufa resident Nikita Bogdanov won the title of Russian Champion. Three more racers from the Center for Technical Sports are in the top ten: Dmitry Solyannikov, Ivan Gavrilov, and Evgeny Sharov.
