Winter Spartakiad of Deaf Sports, "We are together. Sport," has ended in Ufa

The closing ceremony of the All-Russian Winter Spartakiad of Deaf Sports, "We are together. Sport," was held on February 14 at the Ufa Sports Palace.

The competitions were held simultaneously from February 6 to 16 in Ufa, Ishimbay, and the Bannoye ski resort in the Abzelilovsky district. More than 800 athletes from 30 country regions competed in seven disciplines: alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, snowboarding, chess, hockey, curling, and futsal. 27 athletes represented Bashkortostan.

In his speech, the head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, emphasized that the republic is always ready to host and hold deaf sports competitions.

"Two weeks of real athletic competition, friendship, and respect for each other are ending. Thank you for the emotions you gave us! Thank you to the coaches who make great athletes out of you. We tried to ensure you were comfortable during the competitions and provided the best sports facilities in our republic. These competitions are ending, and Bashkortostan is starting to prepare for the First Winter Spartakiad of the CIS countries among children with disabilities, which will be held next autumn. I wish all athletes to move forward, win, and become stronger. Remember that Bashkortostan is a hospitable region and is always waiting for you to visit,” the head of the region noted.

The head of the republic also presented state awards of Bashkortostan.

First Deputy Minister of Sports of Russia Odes Baysultanov noted the event's high level of preparation and holding.

“The competitions flew by in an instant. Everyone liked this holiday of friendship and sports. My sincere congratulations to the winners and prize-winners of the competitions. All the best,” said Odes Baysultanov.

Dmitry Rebrov, president of the All-Russian Sports Federation of Deaf Sports, thanked the leadership of Bashkortostan for organizing the competition.

"The Spartakiad brought together athletes from Kaliningrad to Vladivostok, Crimea to Kamchatka. It became a bright and joyful event, glorifying the strength and spirit of our athletes, who show the limitless possibilities of the human body and successful equality through sports. For the participants, this is a significant step on the sports path and an impetus for further growth and development, reaching new heights. See you in two years at the All-Russian Summer Spartakiad in Deaf Sports "We Are Together. Sports," - emphasized Dmitry Rebrov.

Radiy Khabirov noted that Bashkortostan once again became one of the country's leading sports regions.
