For the first time in 15 years, an athlete from Bashkiria became Russia's champion in alpine skiing in the "giant slalom" discipline. Deputy Prime Minister of the Government—Minister of Sports Ruslan Khabibov called this a historic event on his Telegram channel.
Tanzila Israilova is from Beloretsk. She is a trainee of the republican Sports School in alpine skiing and snowboarding. She also won the Russian Cup.
The last time Laysan Rayanova became the champion of Russia in this sport was back in 2010.
"I congratulate Tanzila and her coach, Elena Sorokina, on an excellent result," wrote Ruslan Khabibov.
