

The government of Bashkiria awarded the winners of the IV Russian-Chinese Winter Youth Games. Acting Deputy Prime Minister of the Government—Minister of Sports of the Republic of Bashkiria Ruslan Khabibov noted that the awards won resulted from many years of coaching and the systematic work of sports schools and federations.
The IV Russian-Chinese Winter Youth Games were held from January 8 to 14. Two hundred twenty-four athletes from Russia and China competed in nine Olympic sports: ski jumping, Nordic combined, snowboarding, freestyle skiing, alpine skiing, curling, short track, figure skating, and cross-country skiing. Russian athletes won 82 medals (28 gold, 29 silver, and 25 bronze), while the Chinese team won 29 medals (10-9-10). The teams also competed in mixed teams (Russia and China), and these medals were not counted in the overall standings.
