The Russian government has established a one-time cash reward for Russian athletes who win medals at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The corresponding decree, signed by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, was published on the official Internet portal of legal information.
The document states that athletes will receive 4 million rubles for a gold medal, 2.5 million rubles for a silver medal, and 1.7 million rubles for a bronze medal.
In addition, the winners' coaches will receive a reward: 800 thousand rubles for gold, 500 thousand for silver, and 340 thousand for bronze.
Recall that 15 Russians competed in the 2024 Olympics as neutrals. The winners were tennis players Mirra Andreeva and Diana Schneider, who won silver medals in doubles. Each athlete will receive 2.5 million rubles in prize money.
