Young chess players from Bashkiria won most medals at Volga Federal District Championship

Bashkortostan took 1st place in the number of medals our young chess players brought home from the Volga Federal District Championship. The Head of the region, Radiy Khabirov, reported this on his social media.

39 young men and women from different cities and chess clubs of the republic participated in the Samara competition. The result was six medals in various age categories:

gold: Artur Ganiev, Rinat Kunakkuzin;

silver: Samira Ishkinina, Nadezhda Volodina, Adelya Tazetdinova;

bronze: Zlata Bulatova.

Two more athletes, Askar Rakhimkulov and Arseny Gusev, took 4th place.

Together with the prize and tournament winners, they also won the right to participate in the Higher League of the Russian Championship - 2025. The republic will be represented by 16 young chess players - almost three times more than this and last year.

"This is an excellent result, for which I congratulate the guys, their coaches, and their parents. I have already said that my dream is for as many children in the republic as possible to learn to play chess. This highly intellectual game develops thinking and teaches an unconventional and creative approach to solving problems. And the more stars are lit today, the more attention this sport will receive from the guys. And we will help," wrote Radiy Khabirov.
