Ufa welcomed Paralympic medalists

Bashkir athletes who competed in the Paralympic Games in Paris returned to Ufa. Their coaches, relatives, friends, and fans met them at the airport.

Bogdan Mozgovoy, Adelina Razetdinova, Andrey Nikolaev, Elena Prokofieva, Anton Kulyatin, Anna Kulinich-Sorokina, Elena Pautova, and Andrey Safronov represented Bashkortostan in the national team. They competed in three sports: athletics, swimming, and table tennis.

Bashkir Paralympians won 2 silver and 4 bronze medals.

“The republic has created good conditions for people with disabilities to play sports, and we continue to develop them. The republican sports school "Center for Adaptive Sports" prepares Paralympians for the competitions. Supporting sports in the republic is of great importance to us. Over the past five years, more than 1,400 facilities have been built - this is the third place in Russia. For the first time in 30 years, a program for the major repairs of sports facilities was launched in the region. Sports grounds with modern exercise machines are appearing in cities and villages. And everywhere we try to create conditions for people with disabilities,” - commented the Minister of Sports of the Republic of Bashkortostan Ruslan Khabibov.

The XVII Paralympic Summer Games 2024 were held in Paris from August 28 to September 8. Athletes from 171 countries, including the 149-person Russian team, participated. The Russians set four world records and took 8th place in the medal count.
