Tour of Russia cycling race stage started for first time in Bashkiria

The republic government reported that the ceremonial start of the multi-day cycling race “Tour of Russia,” which will be held for the first time in the country, took place in Ufa, on Lenin Square.

The Tour of Russia cycling race route consists of six stages and passes through the territory of Bashkortostan and Udmurtia. The cycling distance is 806 km. More than 100 cyclists from 18 regions of Russia, as well as athletes from Belarus, will take part in it.

Bashkiria will be represented in the race by students of sports schools of the Olympic reserve in cycling Stanislav Statsenko and Egor Khomyakov.

 The “Tour of Russia” in the republic will occur in the Ufa, Chishminsky, and Iglinsky districts from July 11 to 13. The distance at each stage will be 120 to 160 km in the region, for a total length of 406 km.

 “The development of sports is one of the priority areas in Bashkortostan. We actively support various sports, including cycling, which is becoming increasingly popular among region residents. We are incredibly proud that the prestigious Tour of Russia race will pass through our republic this year. Bashkortostan has a rich history, beautiful natural landscapes, and hospitable people. We are confident that participants and spectators will receive a lot of vivid impressions from our republic, and especially Ufa, which this year celebrates a significant date - its 450th anniversary,” Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Bashkortostan Irek Sagitov greeted the participants of the cycling race.
