Foil athlete from Ufa Timur Safin won silver at BRICS Games 2024

Foil fencer from Ufa, three-time European champion, Olympic winner Timur Safin became the silver medalist of the BRICS Games 2024.

The Ministry of Sports of Bashkiria reported that they played for medals among foil fencers in Kazan. In the semi-finals, Timur Safin defeated his opponent from Uzbekistan.

This is already the eighth medal in the collection of athletes from Bashkiria. Previously, the Greco-Roman wrestler from Bashkiria, Nokhcho Labazanov, became the champion of the BRICS Games 2024. In the final match, he won ahead of schedule over a wrestler from the Republic of Belarus, Dmitry Zarubsky, the Bashinform news agency reported. Medals of the highest standard were also won by Ilya Pervukhin (canoeing), Alina Davletova (badminton) - in doubles and mixed doubles, and Ernest Sharafutdinov (karate).
