International Olympic Committee announced eSports Olympic Games' creation
The International Olympic Committee created the eSports Olympic Games. IOC President Thomas Bach stated this.
“By creating the Olympic eSports Games, the IOC is taking an important step forward and keeping pace with the pace of the digital revolution. We are thrilled to see how enthusiastically the esports community, represented on our Esports Commission, has embraced this initiative. This is further proof of the Olympic brand's appeal and its values,” he said.
Remember that in October 2023, the IOC announced its intention to create an eSports Olympics. In June 2023, the first-ever Olympic eSports Week took place in Singapore. More than 500,000 people participated, and 6 million viewers watched the broadcasts.
