“1000 Cyclists Day” in Ufa gathered record participants

In Ufa, the annual festival “1000 Cyclists Day” today gathered a record number of participants - 26,139 people, the capital’s mayor’s office reported.

Traditionally, the bike ride started on the square. Lenin's route then passed through the central streets of the city.

At one point along the route, the organizers placed watering machines so everyone could freshen up. The cyclists rode part of the route to the accompaniment of a symphony orchestra. The participants finished in the Television Center area, where entertainment spots were set up, and an award ceremony for participants with the most unusual costumes took place.

Also, today, there was a bicycle race along October Avenue. Athletes from Bashkiria and other regions of Russia took part in it. The winners were awarded branded medals dedicated to the city of Ufa's 450th anniversary.
