Bashkiria is one of the sports regions of the country that has created a robust support system for athletes and their coaches. The Minister of Sports of the Republic, Ruslan Khabibov, announced this today at a government operational meeting.
According to Ruslan Khabibov, in Bashkiria, trainers-teachers receive the following social guarantees: preservation of teaching experience, taking into account the period of work in the position of “coach,” reduction of the established weekly workload from 24 hours to 18 hours per position and 42 days of vacation (for a coach 28 -day vacation).
In addition, scholarships are awarded to athletes under 18 years of age in the republic. In 2023, 234 athletes received it. For comparison, in 2022 - 222. Also, as part of financial and social support for talented athletes, work has been underway to employ them since 2019. Currently, 167 athletes are employed at the sports training center in Ufa, and another 68 are employed at the adaptive sports center.
Last year in the region, 759 payments worth 44.7 million rubles were made to athletes and their coaches for victories in competitions. In 2022, this amount was 75.5 million rubles (1,055 payments), and in 2021 - 120.1 million rubles (956 payments).
“Olympic, Paralympic, Deaflympic champions and prize-winners, and their coaches, have been paid lifelong state scholarships since 2023. This scholarship is received by 88 people (58 athletes and 30 coaches). At the initiative of the Head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, since 2020, for the first time in Russia, the Rural Trainer project has been implemented in the republic. Thanks to this project, we supported 179 trainers. A similar project, “City Coach,” was launched this year. Despite such a short period of implementation of the project, there is an excellent result,” said Ruslan Khabibov.
Coaches from Yekaterinburg Pavel Lavrikov, who works at the gymnastics center, and Nikolai Kalinovsky, who works at the Ufa sports school No. 16, have been invited to work in Bashkiria to develop men's artistic gymnastics.
“The main achievement of implementing the Federal Law was granting the status of teaching staff to coaches. Trainers in the sports industry received social guarantees established by the May decrees of the President of the country. This is, first of all, bringing the average salary of trainers and teachers to the average salary of a teacher in the region: this is over 47 thousand rubles. For these purposes, in 2023, municipalities were provided with subsidies totaling 161.5 million rubles. In 2024, 198.8 million rubles are provided,” the Minister of Sports noted.
Also, according to Ruslan Khabibov, awarding state and departmental awards for merit was a way to stimulate athletes and sports industry workers. Thus, since 2019, 2,748 people have received federal-level awards, awards from Bashkortostan, including the Order of Salavat Yulaev, the Order of General Shaimuratov, the Order of Aksakov, the Order of Friendship of Peoples, the Order of Merit for the Republic of Bashkortostan, and the Medal of Labor Valor. Also among them are those who received the title of Honored Worker of Physical Culture and Sports, diplomas, and departmental awards of the Ministry of Sports of Russia and the Republic.
