Radiy Khabirov: “Fencing center will be ready by September 2024”

The Fencing Center of Bashkiria will be one of three extensive sports facilities commissioned for the 450th anniversary of Ufa. The Head of the Republic, Radiy Khabirov, reminded us of this again. In addition, introducing a modern sports facility will coincide with the international forum “Russia is a Sports Power,” which will be held in the regional capital this fall.

Radiy Khabirov reported in his Telegram channel that the fencing center is now half-ready, and its construction is scheduled to be completed in September.

Remember that the fencing center is being built in the Ufa microdistrict in Zaton, next to the sports training center. The project is being implemented within the framework of the republican targeted investment program, with the support of the President of the Russian Fencing Federation, two-time Olympic champion Ilgar Mamedov.

“Bashkortostan has a powerful fencing school; among our students are Olympic Games winners and medalists. And now, our strongest athletes and future stars will train in good modern conditions. In the new Fencing Center, we will also hold competitions at the republican, interregional, and all-Russian levels,” said Radiy Khabirov.

The Bashinform News Agency reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the international sports forum “Russia is a Sports Power” to be held in Ufa in March of this year.
