Bashkiria plans to hold “Tour of Russia” cycling race this summer.

For the first time this summer, Bashkortostan plans to hold one of the country’s largest cycling races, the Tour of Russia. The Minister of Sports of the Republic, Ruslan Khabibov, announced this on social media.

“This and many other issues were discussed today at a meeting with the General Director of the Russian Cycling Federation, Yuri Kucheryavy, the Director of the Innovation Center of the Russian Olympic Committee, Alexander Grushin, and a member of the board of the Federal Scientific Center for Physical Culture and Sports Alexander Kubeev,” the minister said.

He said the multi-day cycling race would have previously been held in the Birsky, Chishminsky, and Iglinsky districts. It would become the Russian analog of famous races like the Tour de France, Giro d’Italia, and Vuelta Valencia.
