Bashkir judoka Matvey Kanikovsky won silver at Grand Slam tournament
The regional Ministry of Sports reported that Bashkir athlete Matvey Kanikovsky won a silver medal at the Grand Slam judo tournament in the weight category up to 100 kg. The competitions take place in Tashkent.
In the final fight, Kanikovsky lost to the representative of Uzbekistan, Muzaffarbek Turoboev. The bronze medalists were Japanese Dota Arai and Pole Piotr Kucera.
It should be noted that the Grand Slam tournament in Tashkent is a stage of Olympic qualification. Russian athletes perform in a neutral status.
