

The key topic on the agenda of the Council for the Development of Physical Education and Sports meeting was the discussion of the modernization of the sports medicine system. First Deputy Minister of Health of Bashkortostan Gulnara Zinnurova spoke about the work in this part. Thus, more than 89 thousand athletes in the region underwent in-depth medical examinations last year.
Health workers accompany all sporting events and forums. Multidisciplinary teams of doctors regularly travel to the regions and cities of Bashkortostan. In addition, municipalities are planning a gradual expansion of the network of medical offices.
Advisor to the Head of Bashkortostan on health issues, professor at Bashkortostan State Medical University Vil Timerbulatov, in his speech, highly praised the medical support system for sports. He noted that the region's sports injuries do not exceed 1%, while the Russian average is 2–3%.
To develop medical care for athletes further, Vil Timerbulatov proposed creating a Republican Center for Sports Medicine. The head of Bashkortostan instructed the regional Ministry of Health to study this issue and submit appropriate proposals.
