Bashkortostan biathlon team will receive new awards set

The athletes of the Bashkortostan biathlon team, who gave their bronze medals at the 2024 All-Russian Spartakiad to the team from Belarus, will receive a new set of awards. And Belarusian athletes will receive medals specially made for them. Georgy Bryusov, the Sports Training Center director for Russian National Teams, announced this in his Telegram channel.

“Belarusian biathletes who took third place in the relay received medals specially prepared for them by the organizers. But the action of the Russian guys from Bashkortostan is the emotional culmination of our common Spartakiad,” noted Georgy Bryusov.

Dmitry Guberniev said that the organizers of the Spartakiad suggested the idea of making a new set of awards. Members of the Bashkir team will receive medals in Ufa.

“The guys showed generosity of soul. They will be rewarded. The organizers and I decided to make an additional set of awards and present them in Ufa at the next stage, from the end of February to the beginning of March, in the “Biathlon with Guberniev” program. Goodness is always rewarded. Great solution. Edik Latypov, like a real captain, supported this idea with the guys. I take my hat off to the guys from Bashkortostan - a truly brilliant, gentlemanly act,” said Dmitry Guberniev in an interview with Metaratings.

The head of Bashkiria, Radiy Khabirov, noted that the biathletes acted like real men.

Remember that the All-Russian Spartakiad, a large-scale tournament in Russia for the 2023-2024 winter season, took place in the Chelyabinsk region. The competition is analogous to the Olympic Games.

According to the competition results, the Bashkortostan team took tenth place. In the team competition, Bashkir athletes won four gold, four silver, and nine bronze medals. The leader of the Spartakiad was the Moscow team, the St. Petersburg team was in second place, and athletes from the Moscow region rounded out the top three.
