Nikita Bogdanov is among Russian motorcycle ice racing championship leaders

Russian champion of 2022 and 2023 Nikita Bogdanov from the Ufa Technical Sports Center took third place at the second stage of the 64th personal Russian motorcycle ice racing championship in the 500 cc class, held in Kamensk-Uralsky. After two stages out of six, he ranks second in the standings behind former teammate Dinar Valeev, only two points behind him.

This situation arose due to Bogdanov’s fall in the ninth race of the first day when the wheels of his motorcycle were torn off on a pothole at the entrance to the last turn. Having lost the right three points, Bogdanov scored 11 points on the first day, just like Valeev.

Dmitry Koltakov, playing for Kamensk-Uralsky, was ahead -13 points.

By the second day, the organizers could not prepare high-quality ice; it also snowed throughout the race. Under these conditions, Valeev performed most successfully - with 14 points, and Koltakov - with 13. Nikita Bogdanov was the only one who could defeat Valeev but failed in two races, losing three points.

As a result, in two days, Koltakov scored 26 points, Valeev - 25, and Bogdanov - 23. After two stages, Valeev had 54 points, Bogdanov had 52, Dmitry Solyannikov from Shadrinsk had 46, and Koltakov had 42.

The sensation of the second stage was the performance of 17-year-old Ufa resident Ivan Gavrilov, who took ninth place with 13 points. Vasily Nesytykh was in tenth place with 12 points.

The next stage of the Russian Championship will take place on January 13-14 in Shadrinsk.
