Bashkir biathlete Eduard Latypov took first place in the 10 km sprint. The race took place on the Russian Biathlon Cup track in Khanty-Mansiysk. The victory of the athlete from Ufa was announced by the Minister of Sports of the Republic, Ruslan Khabibov.
Eduard Latypov covered the 10 km distance in 24:26.1. Evgeniy Sidorov (Krasnoyarsk Territory) finished second +2.8. The top three were completed by Anton Smolsky (Belarus) +9.2.
As the Bashinform News Agency reported, in Khanty-Mansiysk, in the pursuit race of the first stage of the open regional competition “PARI Cup of the International Club Biathlon League - 2023”, Eduard Latypov became seventh.
Eduard Latypov noted severe frost in Khanty-Mansiysk, and racing in such conditions is difficult.
“I’m glad that I managed to win, to spend all my strength for a reason. Today is the first day of winter, although it has lasted for about a month. The mood is good, the start of the season is excellent,” said Eduard Latypov.
The athlete also explained his only mistake. He said the cold weather stiffened his body, and he lacked concentration and control.
