

Bashkir athlete Semyon Elistratov won two medals at the third stage of the Russian Short Track Cup in Ufa. Our athlete won a gold medal in the 1500-meter discipline and a silver medal in the 500-meter field. The Minister of Sports of Bashkiria, Ruslan Khabibov, announced this on his Telegram channel.
The minister also said that Semyon Elistratov was introduced to sports by his mother. According to her stories, Semyon was a handy boy from childhood. Training took place at six in the morning three times a week. The athlete did not miss a single training session. And by the way, Semyon got his first skates from Yulia Chachina, the European Championship bronze medalist.
Today, Semyon Elistratov is the 2014 Olympic champion in the relay race, the bronze medalist of the 2018 and 2022 Olympic Games at a distance of 1500 meters, the 2015 world champion at a distance of 1500 meters, multiple champion of Europe and Russia, Honored Master of Sports of Russia.
