Chess player from Ufa won silver at International tournament in Bulgaria
Ufa chess player Elena Nikitina won silver at an international tournament in Bulgaria. She won six victories and took second place in the women's tournament at the 45th Georgy Tringov Memorial in Plovdiv, the Tolpar sports club told Bashinform News Agency.
149 chess players from eight European countries fought for the victory. Elena Nikitina had to play not only with women but also with men. Elena Nikitina became the only Russian athlete to play at the memorial.
In the overall standings, Elena Nikitina entered the Top 20 of the tournament in terms of points scored, ahead of most of the stronger athletes.
Recall that at the end of July this year, Elena Nikitina successfully performed at another representative international tournament in Bulgaria - International Blitz Open Shumen. There, the representative of "Tolpar" took second place among women in the blitz and won bronze in rapid.
