The 16-year-old athlete from Bashkiria Ilya Kandalin became the champion of the world championship in Greco-Roman wrestling. Competitions among athletes under 17 were held in Istanbul.
In the final bout, an Oktyabrsky wrestling school trainee met with an opponent from Armenia, Artur Broyan. Ilya confidently dealt with the opponent and won ahead of schedule with a score of 9:0.
Recall that earlier, Bashinform News Agency reported that Ilya Kandalin won the European Championship in Greco-Roman wrestling. At 16, he is a three-time winner of the Russian Championship, a bronze and gold medalist of the European Championship. Now the athlete also has a world-class victory.
