"Day of 1000 cyclists" -2023 in Ufa gathered record participants - 25 thousand people, the press service of the capital's mayor's office reported.

This year, for the first time in its twelve-year history, 1000 Cyclists Day began not with a traditional mass bike ride but with competitions among professional cyclists and amateurs.

The 15 km cycling race brought together some of the strongest athletes of Bashkiria.

According to the results of the “Race of 1000 cyclists”, Olga Kondratenko won the victory among women. Among men, Danil Konotop became the strongest.

“Traditionally, the most long-awaited event was the bike ride, which brought together a record number of participants this year. For the first time, the number of starters crossed the mark of 25 thousand people,” the press service of the Ufa administration said.

The impressive cycling column was led by Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Bashkortostan Irek Sagitov, Minister of Sports of Bashkiria Ruslan Khabibov, Deputy Head of Ufa Administration Vladimir Zhebrovsky, as well as athletes of the republican sports school of the Olympic reserve in cycling.

“Today, Ufa has opened its roads for cyclists. Every year the city administration tries to make the "Day of 1000 cyclists" even more colorful and memorable. Many interesting activities and surprises were prepared for the participants today,” said Vladimir Zhebrovsky.

At one of the points of the route, the organizers placed watering machines so that everyone could freshen up and recharge with fresh energy to complete the bike ride. Further, along the way, the cyclists were met by a symphony orchestra.

The participants of the large-scale bike ride finished at the Telecentre, where the festival unfolded with an extensive concert program.

“In addition, it was from the Ufa “Day of 1000 cyclists” that the project “Sports Kaleidoscope “Republic of the First” was launched. As part of this project, events dedicated to the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Republican Ministry of Sports will be held in each municipality of the republic,” concluded the Ufa City Hall.
