International School Sports Festival "Russia-Belarus" is being implemented as part of the X Forum of the Regions of Russia and Belarus, which will be held in Ufa from June 25 to 29, 2023.
372 schoolchildren from Russia and Belarus will take part in the festival. The teams from Russia will include representatives of the Lugansk and Donetsk People's Republics, the Republic of Crimea, the city of Sevastopol, and the Republic of Bashkortostan.
The Olympic champion, the star of Soviet basketball Ivan Edeshko, whose sports career is dedicated to the feature film “Movement Up”, will act as the festival's ambassador of sports and goodwill.
At the competition, schoolchildren will compete for medals in 7 sports - football, basketball, volleyball, chess, table tennis, badminton, and swimming.
The competitions will be held at the universal sports grounds of the capital of Bashkortostan.
The festival organizers are the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation, the All-Russian Federation of School Sports, and the Ministry of Sports of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
“The Republic of Bashkortostan has long been the region where the main sporting events of the country are held. In 2022, we held the Russia-Belarus International School Sports Festival at the highest level and welcomed guests from friendly countries with special hospitality. I am sure that this year the festival will again become a unique sporting event and will help strengthen ties and friendship between our countries,” said Minister of Sports of the Republic of Bashkortostan Ruslan Khabibov.
