Volleyball in Russia celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2023. In this regard, an additional 350 million rubles will be allocated for developing and promoting this sport within the framework of the state program "Development of Physical Culture and Sports". Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed the order. The document is published on the website of the government.
Due to the subsidy, which will be provided to the All-Russian Volleyball Federation, it is planned to hold sports events dedicated to the memorable date. Among them are volleyball festivals in the regions, retro matches, and youth competitions. In addition, federal funds will be used to improve the video broadcast service, create an Internet portal about the history of domestic volleyball and organize the filming of educational video programs.
Recall that the birthday of Russian volleyball is considered to be July 28, 1923. On this day, the first official match took place in Moscow. Financing of events dedicated to the anniversary date is conducted according to the Russian President’s instructions.
