Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation Oleg Matytsin congratulated the Russian boxing team on their victory at the 5th Bolivarian Games in Venezuela.
Recall that the boxing team from Russia won five gold, four silver, and three bronze medals. A boxer from Bashkiria, Azaliya Amineva, defeated a rival from Venezuela, Yulianna Alvarez, in the final, the Bashinform News Agency reported.
“On behalf of the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation and myself, I congratulate the Russian boxing team on their successful performance at the 5th Bolivarian Games! Five gold, four silver, and three bronze medals are excellent results, indicating a high level of training and a fighting team spirit. It is especially pleasant and valuable that our team competes at these Games under the flag of the Russian Federation, and the national anthem is played in honor of the winners. I hope that at the last fights, you felt the true competitive spirit, and outside the ring, you talked with foreign teams in an atmosphere of friendship and unity,” Oleg Matytsin addressed the athletes.
We add that the government of Bashkiria signed a decree approving the provision on the payment of state sports scholarships of the republic to athletes-winners and prize-winners of the Olympic, Paralympic, and Deaflympic Games as part of the national teams of the Russian Federation, as well as their coaches.
According to the document, athletes will receive a lifetime scholarship of 30 thousand rubles for first place in the Russian national teams. For second place - 25 thousand rubles, for third - 20 thousand rubles.
Coaches who have prepared the winners and prize-winners will be paid 50% of the scholarship amount for a participant in international competitions for the highest result.
