Ufa will host international ethnic sports forum "Towards the Eurasian Games"

Preparations have begun in Bashkiria for international competitions in ethnic sports “Towards the Eurasian Games”. The republic's government informed this Bashinform News Agency.

An expanded meeting of the Public Council of the regional representation of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly was held in Ufa on April 26, at which members of the Bashkir Cabinet of Ministers discussed the prospects for having a complex sports event “Towards the Eurasian” in 2023 in the region, as well as measures to support national and non-Olympic sports in the republic.

Prime Minister of Bashkiria Andrey Nazarov noted that the republic pays great attention to creating conditions for physical culture and sports, and new sports facilities are being built. In 2022, over 7 billion rubles were attracted to the development of the sports industry.

“The Republic is ready to host such large-scale competitions, and they will be held at the highest organizational level,” Andrey Nazarov said.

The sports festival will be held in the republic’s capital from 24 to August 27. More than 700 strongest athletes from 30 countries will compete for medals. A business conference is also planned, where experts will discuss the achievements and tasks for developing Russian and international sports.

Joint work on the forum "Towards the Eurasiad" will allow realizing the accumulated experience and potential of the national and non-Olympic movements in different countries and will also be the beginning of a new path for the development of physical culture and sports based on the principles of respect, equality, honesty, and friendship.

Shortly, the Ministry of Sports of Bashkiria, in cooperation with the Directorate of Sports and Social Projects and Programs "Eurasiada", will create a joint working group to prepare to hold an international sports forum.

Andrey Nazarov stressed that measures to support national and non-Olympic sports, developed during the upcoming forum "Towards the Eurasian Games", should be implemented.

In addition, the forum will host competitions in national sports: belt wrestling, arm wrestling, mas-wrestling, and kettlebell lifting.

“In Bashkortostan, competitions will be held at the best sports venues: the sports training center of Bashkortostan Rima Batalova, the Biathlon complex, the Ufa Arena, the Dynamo and Neftyanik stadiums. All these facilities will be at the disposal of the Towards the Eurasian competition, - Bashinform previously quoted the Minister of Sports of Bashkiria Ruslan Khabibov.

The Head of Bashkiria, Radiy Khabirov, noted that the Eurasian Games for Bashkortostan is an application to be an ethnocultural sports center of Eurasian cooperation in 2019.
