Russian Esports Championship final will be held in Ufa in May

Ufa will host the finals of the Russian Esports Championship 2023 in May. This Bashinform News Agency was informed by the Ministry of Sports of Bashkiria. The matches of the finals will take place at the Ufa-Arena sports complex on May 20 and 21. Entry for spectators will be free.

The strongest athletes of the tournament will compete in six competitive disciplines: battle arena (Dota 2), real-time strategy (StarCraft II), competitive puzzle (Clash Royale), fighting game (Tekken 7), technical simulator (DCL - The Game), and also tactical 3D combat (Counter-Strike: Global Offensive). The prize fund of the tournament this year is 5 million rubles.

“Esports is a promising direction; computer competitions gather hundreds of participants and millions of spectators worldwide. Today it is actively developing and is recognized in our country as an official sport. The Republic of Bashkortostan is a region with good Esports infrastructure. I am sure the championship will be held at a decent level,” wrote Deputy Prime Minister of Bashkiria Irek Sagitov on his Telegram channel.

The Federation of Computer Sports of Russia noted that Bashkiria is a region with a good Esports infrastructure. The Republic is represented by champions and prize-winners of the country’s key Esports tournaments: Artur “Potato” Rakhmatullin became the winner of the Russian esports championship in the form of the Clash Royale program in 2022, and in the same year, the Ufa State Petroleum Technical University team won bronze in the sixth season of the Esports Student League.
