Ufa hosts Russian Mas-Wrestling Championship

Rima Batalova's sports training center in Ufa hosts the championship and championship of Russia in mas-wrestling, recalled the press service of the capital's mayor's office.

More than 350 athletes from 30 regions of Russia take part in the competition.

The winners will be selected for the upcoming World Mas-Wrestling Championship, held in September this year in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Mas-wrestling is the national sport of Yakutia, recognized in our country and introduced in 2003 into the All-Russian Register of Sports.

The rules are simple: to win, the athlete needs to pull the stick out of the opponent's hands while the legs of both participants rest on the board.

The main thing in mas-wrestling is to keep the balance and take the opponent out of it. The victory in the fight is counted if one of the wrestlers manages to pull the opponent over the support board or if the opponent releases the stick.

We add that the Bashkiria team won 20 medals in the championship of the Volga Federal District in mas-wrestling in Chuvashia on March 4-5.

According to the results of two competitive days, the athletes of the republic won four gold, seven silver, and nine bronze medals, took the second team place among men and women, the third team among girls and boys aged 14-15, and the second place among girls and boys aged 16-17, reported the Bashinform News Agency formerly.
