Radiy Khabirov proposed holding an international sambo tournament in Ufa in 2024

The Head of Bashkiria, Radiy Khabirov, suggested that Andrey Turchak, Secretary of the United Russia General Council, hold an international sambo tournament in Ufa. The tournament may occur at the Wrestling Palace, opening in 2024. The competition is scheduled for SAMBO Day — November 16, 2024.

The Bashinform News Agency found out that 19 schools of the republic currently participate in the "Sambo to Schools" program in Bashkiria. Ten more will be added by the end of this year.

“At the Science of Winning forum held today in Moscow, I shared my achievements in the development of SAMBO in our republic. Thus, 19 schools of Bashkortostan are already participating in the SAMBO to Schools program. By the end of this year, we will add 10 more. From the new academic year, based on the Bashkir Institute of Physical Culture, we will begin to train SAMBO trainers,” said Radiy Khabirov.

Radiy Khabirov added that the republic is ready to produce high-quality and affordable equipment for sambo athletes.

“The Republic has such opportunities. I am sure the Za Sambo project will continue to expand and teach our children to be physically and morally strong. This is very useful,” said Radiy Khabirov.

Recall that in Bashkiria, Radiy Khabirov spoke about implementing the Za Sambo project initiated by Andrey Turchak in January.

“We discussed with the President of the All-Russian Sambo Federation Sergey Eliseev the implementation of the Za Sambo project by Andrey Turchak, a master of sports of the USSR,” Bashinform News Agency quoted Radiy Khabirov as saying.
