Bashkir strongman Elbrus Nigmatullin set a new world record in Ufa. This time in the exercise "Batyr's Grip". The athlete held two logs for 60 seconds, the weight of each of which was 380 kg. This was reported to the Bashinform News Agency in the press service of the administration of the Kirovsky district.
Dozens of citizens witnessed this event as it took place on the square in front of the Bashkortostan State Concert Hall. The record was fixed by Dmitry Kononets, President of the Federation "Uralstrong - Strongmen of Russia". He immediately issued a confirmation certificate to the strongman.
"I prepared for a long time. For almost six months, I got in shape. In winter conditions, it was more difficult to set a record. For you to understand, it's the same as swimming comfortably 100 meters in a pool and swimming the same distance in an ice hole. The difference in sensations is big. The weather was extreme, and it was -15 degrees in the morning. The metal froze, and the grip deteriorated. Hands went numb, and sensitivity decreased. But I am glad I managed to hold out for more than a minute," the record holder shared.
