HC Salavat Yulaev again took lead in series with Chelyabinsk Traktor
The third match of the semi-final series of the KHL East between Salavat Yulaev and Traktor started with the stands of the Ufa Arena filled to maximum. The team was supported by Rodion Amirov before the match, who still undergo cancer treatment in Germany. The Salavat Yulaev fans created another performance for the Ufa hockey players with the slogan “New Superheroes Time”.
The hosts opened the scoring first. The Ufa players were able to double their advantage at the start of the second period, having achieved success on the power play. Viktor Tikhonov became the author of the goal.
Chelyabinsk residents were inspired by a goal scored shorthanded by Tomasz Ghika leaving the penalty bench - 2:1. Towards the end of the match, Tomi Lamsa's players remained shorthanded. However, the "green squad" stood four against six and scored the third goal into an empty net. Nikolay Kulemin brought Salavat Yulaev forward for the second time in the series.
The fourth match of the KHL East semi-finals will be held in Ufa on March 23.
