Bashkiria native Alsu Minazova told how she was preparing for Russian Rowing Slalom Cup

A native of Bashkiria, a participant in the Tokyo Olympics, Alsu Minazova, together with the Russian team in rowing slalom, completed the first pre-season training camp in the United Arab Emirates.

“The city of Al Ain has a very cool canal, it is very turbulent. We worked to the maximum there. Last season was very difficult, it was Olympics. There was a lot of responsibility and pressure. I think that at the Olympic Games, psychological preparation failed to some extent. Also, technical aspects prevented me from performing at a higher level. Probably, this is due to the fact that we do not yet have a home channel where we could train all year round like other European athletes. Probably COVID also contributed to it. We could not go to international channels and train,” the athlete told the correspondent of the sports radio “Dvizhenie”.

Now the girl is actively preparing for the Russian Rowing Slalom Cup, which will be held in May in the Novgorod region.

“I want to spend the upcoming season easily and get maximum pleasure from the competition,” Alsu Minazova, leader of the Russian national team in rowing slalom said.
